Hey guys!
This has been a pretty good week. We've been doing a lot of service lately.
We've painted an entire shed this week, and that's been fun. The highlight of
the week, though, we probably the lesson we had last night. We had it with an
investigator named Trisha. She's super solid and the only reason why she's not
on date is because she's getting surgery soon on her almost-ruptured achilles
tendon and will be stuck in bed for about six-weeks. During the lesson, we were
teaching the plan of salvation. As we got talking about the celestial kingdom,
we were talking about the requirements to get there (which are pretty simple)
and how if we've been sealed to our families and live worthy of it, we can live
with them for all eternity. During the lesson, we had been
talking a lot about the incredible love that God has for us. We quickly steered
the conversation back to the spirit world and reminded her about how God is a
fair and loving God, and everyone will have a fair and equal chance to hear and
accept the gospel, whether in this life or the next. We expalined that it
wouldn't make sense unless they could be baptized as well. Then we jumped to the
temple, asked her what she understood about that.
The spirit was
incredibly powerful, and she got very emotional, in a good way, about the principle of being her with our families for all of eternity and the plan the Lord has provided to allow this to happen. We invited her to the Ogden temple
open house, which starts this week, where she'll be able to walk through the
temple and learn more about what happens inside of there, and the importance of
it for her and her family. We're pretty stoked for her.
So...that was my week. We've got some good things coming up this week that
I'm excited for as well.
I know that this church is true. I know that it's led by inspiration. I
know for a fact that God loves us and that the Atonement is real and powerful.
It's really what this work and everything else in the gospel is all about. Love
all you guys.
